Seamless Credit and License Types

This article explains how Seamless uses Standard Credits, Universal Credits, and Buyer Intent Topics across different license types. You’ll learn how each credit type works, what they’re used for, how they replenish, and how they apply to your organization’s contract. We also outline the migration to Universal Credits and how admins can manage credit allocation for their teams.

Brand refresh in progress

We recently launched a new brand, so some images and videos may differ from what you see in-product. All workflows and guidance remain accurate while we update visuals.

Getting started

Seamless uses two types of credits to power your searches, premium features, and automation workflows: Standard (Lead) Credits and Universal Credits

Seamless primarily uses Universal Credits to power contact research, premium features, and automation workflows. Universal Credits are the credit type used for all new licenses.

Legacy accounts created before April 1, 2026 may still use Standard Credits, sometimes referred to as Lead Credits. Standard Credits are no longer available for new purchase, but the rules for Standard Credits still apply to eligible legacy accounts.

For users with access to Buyer Intent, they have a select number of Intent Topics to use with Buyer Intent searches. This article breaks down how both credit systems work, how they’re consumed, and how they apply to your license.

License Types & Credit Allowances

  • Free License - Users receive 50 Universal Credits. On a Free License, credits do not replenish.
  • Universal Credits Packages -
    • Universal Credits Pool Credits - A set amount of bulk credits added to your organization’s shared credit pool at the start of the contract or purchase.
These credits can be used at your organization’s pace and do not automatically replenish. If your organization runs out of Universal Credits, additional credits can be purchased.
    • Universal Credits Pro License - Users receive 10,000 Universal Credits per month. These credits refresh monthly on the contract date.
  • Legacy Standard Credit Packages
The following Standard Credit packages only apply to eligible legacy accounts created before April 1, 2026. Standard Credits are no longer available for new purchase.
    • Basic License - Users receive 250 Standard Credits per month. This amount will refresh monthly on the date of when the contract started.
    • Standard Credit Pro License - Users receive 1,000 Standard Credits per day. This amount will refresh daily at midnight Universal Time (UTC).

Additionally, Seamless Owners and Authorized Admin on any paid Seamless plan have API access automatically. However, he Seamless API uses Universal Credits only.

Users can track remaining credits in the top right corner of the platform. This will show the available credits remaining for the user or organization, depending on how the account is configured.

How Credits Are Used

Credit consumption depends on the feature being used.

  • Contact Search: Researching a contact uses 1 credit per contact.
  • Data Enrich: Enriching a contact uses 1 credit per contact or row.
  • AI Assistant: Each interaction or refinement uses 1 credit.
  • Autopilot: Researching a contact with Autopilot uses 1 credit per contact.
  • AI Prompts: Generating and using AI Prompts with contacts through Seamless Connect uses a fractional credit per interaction.

API Credit Usage

Credits are consumed based on the API action being performed. View the breakdown of API actions and related Universal Credit usage:

  • Contact research = 1 credit per contact researched
  • Company research = 1 credit per company researched
  • Search = 1 credit per 10 returned results
    • Credits for search results are rounded up, for example:
      • Search with fewer than 10 results = 1 credit
      • Search with 11 results = 2 credits

Credit usage is tied to the owner of the API key. If a user creates the API key, activity and credit usage through that key is associated with that user.

What Are Universal Credits?

Universal Credits allow for more flexibility on overall platform usage with ability to research contacts, but also use additional features such as Autopilot, AI Assistant, and Data Enrich.

  • Autopilot Searches: Run automated large-scale contact research without going one by one.
  • Data Enrichment: Upload a list and enrich missing contact or company information.
  • AI Assistant: Use Universal Credits to ask questions, refine targeting, write messages, and more.
  • Job Change Enrich: Monitor job changes across your saved leads and companies.
  • Contact Research

These credits can be used at your pace over the premium features. Universal credits provide scalability, allowing users to adjust their resource allocations to meet requirements without having to make separate purchases for each service.

Universal Credits are purchased in bulk based on you and your organization’s needs and added to your account’s credit pool. Universal Credits are available to use at your pace. Admin can customize if credits are used from the organization’s total available credits at users’ desired pace or set a credit user limit per desired refresh period. If you run out of credits, you can simply purchase more Universal Credits.

What Are Standard Credits?

Standard Credits, sometimes referred to as lead credits, are used exclusively for researching and unlocking contacts.

These credits are used exclusively for researching and unlocking contacts. Whether as part of Contact Search, in a Company Org Chart, or when using the Seamless.AI Chrome Extension, clicking the  “Find” button will use 1 Standard Credit.

Please note: As of April 1, 2026, new accounts are not eligible for Standard Credits. All new accounts use Universal Credits.

Migration to Universal Credits

As of January 2026, all legacy premium credits are being transitioned to Universal Credits. If your account at the time had premium credits, specific to Data Enrich, Job Changes, AI Assistant or Autopilot, these credits have been migrated to Universal Credits. Premium Credits will be transferred to Universal Credits as a 1 to 1 transfer.

For example, if you have 1,500 Enrich Credits, these will be transferred to 1,500 Universal Credits.

With the migrated credits, you can now use them flexibly across any premium feature, other than Buyer Intent, not just the feature they originally belonged to.

With migration, if users want access to any premium features, they will purchase Universal Credits. Users will no longer purchase credits for a specific premium feature.

Buyer Intent Topics

Buyer Intent is the final premium feature. Unlike other features that require credits to use, Buyer Intent requires the purpose of Intent Topics. Intent Topics are available and shared between your Seamless organization.

Users search for Intent Topics relevant to your offerings by category, keywords, or phrases. View the number of available Intent Topics available in the topics box in the top right corner.
